Summary. Folded Days ("the app") is a diary app by Atto Studio ("we") that works entirely on your phone. There are no accounts, servers, ads, analytics or tracking, and the app sends nothing to us or to anyone else. Your diaries are kept on your device (on iPhone they may also be in your iCloud or computer backup), and the app moves them off the device only when you export them yourself. If you email us, we use your message only to answer you (section 6).

1. Information we collect

None. We don't run any servers, and the app contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code. The app makes no network requests; on Android it does not even have the internet permission. The app is built with open-source libraries (React Native, Expo and others, listed in Settings → Open source licenses); none of them collect or send data. The only information we ever receive is an email you choose to send us (section 6).

2. Data stored on your device

Your diaries (what you write and draw, stickers, the date and the time you kept each one, paper colour and font), the diary you are still writing, your settings and a list of the diaries you recently took out of the bottle are kept in the app's private storage on your device. The app also stores a random number created when it is installed; the app never sends it anywhere and uses it only to tell whether the app was reinstalled, so an old app lock is not carried over.

Deleting a diary removes it. Settings → Erase all notes removes every diary, the diary you are still writing and the list of recently opened diaries; your settings and the app lock stay until you change them. Uninstalling the app removes everything, except that on iPhone the app-lock data can stay in the iOS Keychain (section 3).

On iPhone this storage may be included in your iCloud or computer backup, which is handled by Apple under your agreement with Apple — we cannot access it. On Android the app opts out of Google's cloud backup, so your diaries are not copied to your Google account. To move your diaries to another phone, use Export notes (section 4).

4. Exporting and importing

Settings → Export notes creates a file with all your diaries and opens your device's share sheet; you choose where it goes (for example Files, a cloud drive or a message). We don't receive it, and what happens next is governed by the app or service you choose. The file is not encrypted, so anyone who has it can read your diaries: keep it somewhere safe. Import notes reads only the file you pick in the system file picker. While exporting and importing, the app keeps a temporary copy of the file in its private storage; it deletes the imported copy right after reading it, and the exported one the next time you open the app, export again or erase all diaries.

5. Motion sensor and vibration

To let the diaries in the bottle slide and bounce when you tilt or shake your phone, the app reads the motion sensor (accelerometer) while the bottle screen is open in front of you (not while the app is locked or another screen is open). The readings are used immediately on your device and are never stored or sent. You can turn this off in Settings → Tilt & shake, and vibration in Settings → Haptics.

6. Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write (for a refund request, also your Google Play order number). If you use Settings → Send feedback, the draft also lists the app version, OS version, device model and app language; you can delete them before sending. We use them only to answer you and, if you ask for a refund, to find the order in Google Play Console and refund it; we never share them or use them for marketing, keep them only as long as needed to handle your request and delete them when you ask. Support email is received and stored in Gmail, a service of Google LLC, on Google's servers in the United States and other countries where Google has data centers.

7. Device permissions

The app asks for no permissions except one optional one: on iPhone, Face ID, which iOS asks you to allow the first time the app unlocks with Face ID after you turn on Settings → Use biometrics. It does not access your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or notifications. On Android these permissions are granted at install and give no access to your data:

Because Folded Days is a paid app, Google Play may also add a licence check (com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE), with which the app asks the Google Play Store app on your device whether this copy was installed from Google Play. The app still has no internet permission.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children in particular, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

9. Keeping and deleting data

The app gives us no data about you, so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete; support emails are deleted from the mailbox, including its trash, once they are no longer needed or when you ask. To remove your diaries, delete them in the app or use Settings → Erase all notes; to remove all of the app's data, uninstall it (on iPhone, see section 3 for the app lock), and delete any exported files and iPhone backups you no longer want.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA or Korea's Personal Information Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information. Because the app gives us no personal information, we usually hold nothing about you beyond any emails you sent us, but we will answer every request.

11. Security

Data on your device is protected by your operating system's app sandbox, the app lock keeps only a salted hash of your passcode or pattern, and the app transmits nothing over the network.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date, and mention important changes in the app's update notes.

제2조 (기기에 저장되는 정보와 보유 기간)

이용자가 쓴 일기(글, 그림, 스티커, 날짜와 보관한 시각, 종이 색, 글꼴), 쓰던 중인 일기, 설정, 최근에 꺼내 본 일기 목록은 기기 안의 앱 전용 저장 공간에 보관됩니다. 앱을 설치할 때 만든 임의의 번호도 함께 저장되는데, 앱은 이 번호를 어디로도 보내지 않으며 앱을 다시 설치했는지 확인해 예전 앱 잠금이 남지 않게 하는 데만 씁니다.

개발자는 개인정보를 제3자에게 제공하지 않습니다. 다만 고객 문의 메일을 받고 보관하기 위해 아래와 같이 개인정보 처리를 위탁하며, 이 과정에서 개인정보가 국외로 이전됩니다. 앱에는 광고나 분석을 위한 외부 서비스가 없습니다.

제5조 (일기 내보내기·가져오기)

설정 → 일기 내보내기를 실행하면 모든 일기가 담긴 파일을 만들고 기기의 공유 창을 엽니다. 어디로 보낼지(파일 앱, 클라우드 드라이브, 메시지 등)는 이용자가 정하며, 개발자는 그 파일을 받지 않고 그 이후의 처리는 이용자가 고른 앱이나 서비스의 방침을 따릅니다. 이 파일은 암호화되어 있지 않아 파일을 가진 사람은 누구나 일기를 읽을 수 있으니 안전한 곳에 보관하세요. 일기 가져오기는 이용자가 시스템 파일 선택기에서 고른 파일만 읽습니다. 내보내기·가져오기 중에는 앱 전용 저장 공간에 파일의 임시 사본이 생기며, 가져온 사본은 읽은 즉시, 내보낸 사본은 다음에 앱을 열거나 다시 내보내거나 모든 일기를 지울 때 앱이 삭제합니다.

제6조 (고객 문의)

이용자가 이메일로 문의하면 개발자는 이메일 주소와 이용자가 보낸 내용(환불을 요청하시는 경우 Google Play 주문번호 포함)을 받게 됩니다. 이 정보는 답변과, 환불을 요청하신 경우 Google Play Console에서 주문을 확인하고 환불하는 데에만 사용하며, 제3자에게 제공하거나 마케팅에 쓰지 않습니다. 문의 메일은 Google LLC의 Gmail로 받아(제4조) 처리에 필요한 기간 동안만 보관하며, 요청하시면 삭제합니다. 설정 → 의견 보내기를 쓰면 메일 본문에 앱 버전, OS 버전, 기기 모델, 앱 언어가 미리 적히며, 보내기 전에 지울 수 있습니다.

앱을 통해 개발자가 보관하는 개인정보는 없습니다. 문의 메일은 처리에 필요한 기간이 지나거나 이용자가 삭제를 요청하면 지체 없이 파기하며, 메일함과 휴지통에서 모두 삭제하여 복구할 수 없도록 합니다. 일기를 지우려면 앱에서 지우거나 설정 → 모든 일기 지우기를 실행하고, 앱의 모든 데이터를 지우려면 앱을 삭제하세요(iPhone의 앱 잠금 정보는 제3조 참고). 더 필요 없는 내보낸 파일과 iPhone 백업도 지워 주세요.

제10조 (정보주체의 권리와 행사 방법)

이용자는 개인정보 열람, 정정·삭제, 처리 정지를 요구할 수 있으며, 법정대리인이나 위임을 받은 대리인을 통해서도 요구할 수 있습니다. 개발자가 보관하는 개인정보는 문의 메일뿐이지만 모든 요청에 답변합니다. 요청은 아래 연락처로 보내 주세요.

제11조 (안전성 확보 조치)

기기의 데이터는 운영체제의 앱 격리(샌드박스)로 보호되고, 앱 잠금은 비밀번호·패턴의 해시값만 보관하며, 앱은 네트워크로 아무것도 전송하지 않습니다.
